The shortage of qualified IT talent is a brake on growth for many organizations. Together with other organizations, we are committed to tackling this challenge. Part of this is: more insight into the nature of the problem and possible solutions. We would therefore like to ask IT employers for help to participate in a survey. With at least 100 participants we can get a representative picture of the situation. Will you help us get to 100?

What do we ask of IT employers?

  • Complete the survey here
  • It takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete this (no, unfortunately it couldn't be shorter!)
  • For companies up to 50 employees, the director is the person who can best complete the survey. From 50 employees, the HR manager is the one who can best complete the survey.
  • The results are anonymized, so that nothing in the report can be traced back to a person or individual organization. However, at the end you can indicate that you would like to receive the results of the research. Then SEO research agency needs your email address to keep you informed.

What kind of research is it exactly?
As CIO Platform Nederland, we have been approached by research agency SEO Economic Research and NLdigital to assist with a study into labor market shortages within the ICT sector. SEO conducts this research on behalf of Institute Gak, a fund that is committed to improving the labor market in the Netherlands. SEO not only examines the ICT sector, but a number of sectors where there is a lot of shortage.

The research consists of two parts: first a survey and then a meeting with practical tables for dialogue, in which other stakeholders such as trade unions and educational parties also participate. Our goal is to reach at least 100 completed surveys by IT employers with the survey.

Why do we cooperate?
We see added value in the research, because the shortage of qualified IT talent is a brake on growth for many of our members. This research provides more insight into this problem, for example by asking which types of vacancies are difficult to fill and which solutions ICT employers are already experimenting with and what their findings are. With these insights we can then help tackle this problem more effectively. We also help policymakers and politicians develop policy that is better aligned with work practice. In this way we help the ICT sector move forward and therefore you as an ICT employer.

Partners
NLdigital has asked us to help distribute the research to as many IT employers as possible. We are also pleased with the help of Fiber Carrier Association, Dutch Data Center Association, Platform Talent for Technology, UWV and NRTO.
