Ron van Kemenade (ING Bank) CIO of the Year 2016!
Nominated members: Hendrik Jan Smaal (Heijmans), Ron van Kemenade (ING Bank), Michel van Hout (Transavia) and Teun van der Vorm (ANWB).
Yesterday, Ron won the 2016 CIO of the Year Award after an intensive preliminary process. This year, 4 CIOs from members of the CIO Platform Netherlands were nominated for this. All nominees met the theme ‘Breakthrough!’.
In particular, Ron van Kemenade managed to distinguish himself by showing that ING's Agile end-to-end transformation is perfectly in line with the changing world and putting the customer at the centre. This implementation reaches beyond the boundaries of IT and puts the relationship with the business in a different perspective.
The presentation of this prestigious award was the conclusion of 2 days of CIODAY2016. Within the central theme ‘Breakthrough’, we CIOs were updated on current topics within our field of work. The pre-conference, of which we were co-organisers, gave us the opportunity to debate with each other. Here, we had discussions on pithy propositions around topics such as strategic information security, the impact of robotisation and new business models from digital disruption. Besides the substantive programme, CIODAY2016 offered CIOs every opportunity to strengthen their network.
