Manifesto: together towards a sustainable digital society
Together with 26 other parties, CIO Platform Netherlands signed the Digital Manifesto today.
During the annual conference of ECP | Platform for the Information Society, the ‘Digital Manifesto’ was launched today. With this Digital Manifesto, the signatory parties join forces and come up with one message: the Netherlands must take digital leadership in the next ten years so that we can proactively shape the future to our liking.
Digitalisation has radically changed our society over the past decade. Looking to the future, we foresee that the biggest changes are yet to come. We need to be proactive in responding to this, for growth, employment and to improve the quality of society as a whole.
The parties signing the Digital Manifesto argue that the points below are necessary for this:
- Invest in the basics: training and knowledge development
- Reap the social benefits: accelerate the digitisation of 5 promising domains and the government
- Further increase our earning capacity: give pioneers an extra push
- Focus on concerns and opportunities: employment, cyber resilience, privacy
- Create connection and leadership: ‘ministerial digital top team
Marcel Krom, chairman of the CIO Platform Netherlands, has signed this Digital Manifesto on behalf of our association. We will make our contribution to realise the above points.
The announcement of the manifesto is a start. Everyone -companies, civil society organisations, municipalities, knowledge institutions, initiatives- is cordially invited to join in order to create the broadest possible coalition.
