This initiative, which includes various projects, is also known as HCA ICT (Human Capital ICT). Robert van der Zwan opened the meeting on behalf of the ministry. He indicated that 670,000 ICT professionals are currently active. A large number of them will retire in the coming 6 years. This means that an influx of 65,000 per year will be needed. Career changers are specifically mentioned as a possibility. One of the observations is that the connection between education and the labour market must be improved. The ministry is aware that 2/3 of the labour market is located at organisations such as ours.

Make IT Work
Make IT Work is one of the initiatives.
Three universities of applied sciences are now affiliated with this initiative: Amsterdam, Eindhoven and Groningen. The model offers the possibility of retraining. The candidates are selected by the University of Applied Sciences and linked to the potential employer via a market. An intensive 5-month course is then started by the university of applied sciences with a final certificate. This is followed by a 6-month internship with the potential employer. The cost of participation in this program per employee is € 7500.
