People, not systems, should take precedence at the benefits agency, which is struggling with an image problem following revelations about errors with WIA benefits.
Too time-consuming, too complicated, and not profitable enough. So stop it. During his thirty years in the business world, including at Essent, Rabobank, and Randstad, René Steenvoorden was used to making such considerations. But in his new position, he doesn’t have that option. ‘As a government agency, we have to be ready for everyone and serve everyone in the same way.’
